Southern Living magazine in its June issue
named Flagler Beach one of the South’s best
“Laid–back Beach Towns.”
“It goes without saying that when an editor at Southern Living magazine contacts you
because they want to include your destination in a feature story, you feel honored.
But that pales in comparison to the excitement when I found out that so many of our small local businesses would be included as well,”
said Amy Lukasik,
director of tourism marketing for the Flagler County Tourism Development Office, in a news release.
“Flagler Beach has maintained that small town, laid-back vibe and our local mom-and-pop establishments have contributed significantly to that,”
“So many of them rely heavily on tourism and this national exposure has the possibility to open many doors and grow their business.
For example, the day after the June issue hit subscribers’ mailboxes,
‘Si Como No Inn,’
had 25 emails waiting for them from people
wanting to make reservations.
at the end of the day, that’s our most important objective,
which is to continue to drive visitation
and spending to our local businesses.”
