An alert sheriff’s deputy who’d been keeping an eye on a house that had been burglarized multiple times recently struck pay dirt Tuesday during his rounds.
The deputy checked the unoccupied home on County Road 42 before daybreak Tuesday because the owner had reported numerous burglaries. He found nothing out of place.
But when the deputy returned four hours later, about 10 a.m., he saw a woman coming out of a shed on the property wearing a full backpack and gloves. The woman, Stephanie Blue, reportedly said that she the owner had given her permission to clean up the property, but the deputy called the owner, who said that wasn’t the case.
Blue was charged with armed burglary to an unoccupied dwelling — because she had folding knives on her — and grand theft.
Blue, 30, of Paisley, has multiple arrests dating back to 2015 for theft and battery.
